1. Three days of heavy rain starting from 24 September affected far-western Nepal along the border with India, causing floods and landslides.
2. In the Kanchanpur district, hundreds of people were affected by heavy rainfall in Mahendranagar, a town 640 km west of Kathmandu. The Mahakali River, swollen by late monsoon rains, burst through a dike and flooded parts of the town located near the border with India. Relief efforts have been undertaken by the Royal Nepalese Army, the District Administration Office (DAO) and the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS).

The death toll from landslides triggered by floods in western Nepal has risen to 51, and rescue workers fear the toll may rise further, police said Wednesday.
"The death toll from landslides late Monday has risen to 49 in Sirsha village in Dadeldhura district" in far western Nepal, a senior police officer told AFP.
The officer, who asked not to be named, added that two other people died in a landslide late Monday in Kaldev village in the same remote region.

At least 10 persons, including women and children were killed, and another 39 feared dead in massive flooding and landslides triggered by week-long heavy rain in Dadeldhura.
District Police Office (DPO) in Dadeldhura said the bodies of 10 out of 49 people who went missing in the floods on Monday and Tuesday, were recovered. The missing are feared dead, according to police.
