Outline Cold lava flash floods hit the West Sumatra region on the evening of Saturday, 11 May 2024. This incident was triggered by high intensity rain in the upstream area of Mount Marapi. Four districts were quite badly affected by this incident, including Agam District, Tanah Datar District, Padang Panjang District and Padang Pariaman District. As of Sunday, 12 May 2024 at 21.00 WIB, the total number of victims who died as a result of this disaster was 37 people.

BNPB 2024/05/18
The Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) released the latest data update as of Saturday (18/5 ) a total of 61 people died.

The number of victims who died was recorded at 58 people, while the missing victims increased from 27 to 35 people during the search. Apart from that, 1,543 families were affected and 33 people were injured.
