Reportedly, to date, a total number of 8 people have died and 100 injured in the affected city of Qeshm and 16 villages that cover an area of 1,500 sq km. The total affected population is 17, 510 individuals (3,307 families). Of the 100 injured, 70 people have been released from the hospital after receiving basic treatment.

The villages of Tonban, Gourian, Goursin and Khaldin are reported to be completely destroyed, according to the governor of Qeshm, Heydar Alishvandi. Dozens of others were wounded, the official said adding relief workers were immediately dispatched to the affected areas. IRNA reporter said that the only hospital in the city, which lacked basic medical facilities, was full of injured people.
