2025/04/13 Tajikistan : Earthquake An earthquake of 5.8 M at a depth of 12.6 km occurred on 13 April at 04.24 UTC (9.24 local time) in the district of Tajikistan, central Tajikistan. The epicentre was located about 25 km east of Rasht district. An aftershock of 4.7 M has been recorded in the same area at 14.34 UTC. 2025/04/10 India : Flood On 10 April 2025, severe storms brought heavy rain, lightning, and hail to the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand in northern India, resulting in loss of life and damage. As of 11 April, according to media reports, at least 47 people have been killed, with 25 fatalities reported in Bihar and 22 in Uttar Pradesh. 2025/04/08 Philippines (the) : Volcano On 8 April at approximately 5:51 am local time, an explosive eruption was observed from Mt. Kanlaon. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is currently maintaining Alert Level 3 (alerts are on a scale from 1 to 5, with level 3 categorized as a "high level”). 2025/04/04 DR Congo : Flood Heavy rainfall has been affecting Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, since 4 April 2025, causing flooding and landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage. IFRC reports, as of 13 April 2025, 165 fatalities, 28 injured persons, more than 7,000 displaced people (a number of these across four relief sites) and a total of over 60,000 affected people across the Kinshasa capital city area. 2025/03/28 Thailand : Earthquake A strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake has hit central Myanmar on 28 March 2025, the United States Geological Survey says. Forty-three construction workers are missing after an unfinished high-rise building collapses hundreds of miles away in Bangkok, Thai authorities say.

The Thoughts of ADRC

ADRC was founded in 1998 in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The mission is to enhance disaster resilience of its member countries, to create safe communities where people can live with peace of mind, and to create a society that enables sustainable development.
For the purpose, the ADRC is promoting the establishment of multilateral networks through personnel exchanges and a variety of other programs for disaster risk reduction in Asia.
