One body was retrieved on 26 July 2009 to bring the death toll from a mud-rock flow triggered by heavy rain to 5 in Kangding County, southwest China\'s Sichuan Province, according to local authorities. Another 49 people are still missing.

On 23 July 2009, the heavy rains triggered a landslide at the Changheba hydropower plant in Kangding, temporarily blocking a river. Up to 97 people trapped by the slide have been rescued, but at least 53 are still missing.
