The Relief and Resettlement Department (RRD) of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement(MoSWRR) has announced that about 151 people have been killed, with about 35,734 people affected and about 2,500 houses totally destroyed.

Flash floods affected the Magway, Mandalay and Sagaing Regions on 19 October. Authorities indicate that some 35,000 people were affected, and 78 either killed or missing.
