A State of Emergency has been declared for 7 days, effective on 17 Dec 2024. Updated figure of 9 deaths and more than 200 injuries confirmed by the Ministry of Health. Approximately 80,000 people are directly affected.

USGS PAGER estimates that up to 65,000 people were exposed to severe shaking and 27,000 to very strong shaking. The earthquake is expected to have high humanitarian impact based on the magnitude, the affected population and their vulnerability.
