Outline | On the morning of Thursday 4 March, 1999 an earthquake measuring 6.3 hit the south-eastern part of Iran. The epicentre of the quake was in the district of Kahnooj in the Kerman province, 200 Km to the south of Kerman city. |

The affected districts are: Kahnooj, Kerman, Sirjan, Rafsanjan, Baft, Jiroft and Bardsir in Kerman province.
85 staff and volunteers of Kerman branch have distributed tents, blankets, cooking utensils and food. Meanwhile, heavy rains which have caused flood are making relief work more difficult.

A series of strong earthquakes hit Iran earlier this morning. The epicentre of the strongest quake was in a rural area about 150 km northeast of Bandar-E-Abbas.

85 relief workers with 14 vehicles were dispatched to the Kerman area and are providing assistance to the victims. Due to the cold weather and the type of the rural houses, tents and blankets take priority, but food and other relief items have also been distributed. So far, 150 tents have been supplied, plus 2.3 tons of foodstuffs.
