OCHA Situation Report No. 6
It was possible to determine that coastal villages along the south cost of Jamaica have been severely affected. The village of Old Harbor Bay (in the St Catherine parish) has been completely destroyed by storm surges and winds. Mitchell Town, Portland Cottage and Rocky Point (Clarendon), suffered some eighty to ninety percent damage. In Portland Cottage, eight deaths have been reported.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) informed the following at 4:30 pm on 11 September:
- 11 casualties
- 12,000 people remain in 285 emergency shelters
- Substantial roof damage.
