1. Landslides, caused by days of torrential rains, hit Bukit Gaung in Lubuk Bagalung Sub-District of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra, on 2 September at 01:30 local time. 2. According to SATLAK PBP Padang, as of 4 September, 16 people were found buried and dead, 9 others were reported missing, and at least 10 people were injured. The landslides have completely destroyed 8 houses and heavily damaged 8 others.

Rescuers have discovered seven more bodies, bringing the confirmed death toll in the landslide disaster in West Sumatra, Indonesia, to 17 people so far, local press reported Sunday. At least eight others are believed to remain buried below the mud and rubble, the Jakarta Post daily quoted an official Edi as saying on Sunday.

A landslide in Indonesia's Sumatra island triggered by heavy torrential rains buried at least five people in their homes and left more than two dozen people missing, a rescue official said on Friday. The landslide took place on Thursday near Padang city, about 940 km (580 miles) northwest of Jakarta following two days of heavy rains.
