Tens of thousands of people remained without shelter, food or safe drinking water throughout the south of the country.
More than 45,000 people have been forced out of their homes by the worst rains so far this year. Aid workers said they feared more than 100,000 could be homeless and facing the risk of disease due to contamination of drinking water supplies and exposure.

Care International said it had despatched 500 tonnes of food to Pursat, but said efforts to bring supplies to stricken villagers was being hampered by rising water levels, collapsed bridges and blocked highways.
