Outline More than 70 % of all territory of Mongolia was droughty because of too hot climate and no rainfall in summer of 2002. It became the reason of 72% of all animal couldn’t take enough fatness and affected badly for hay and fodder preparation. Besides the drought, 273 times forest and steppe fire occurred in Selenge, Arkhangai, Bulgan, Khuvsugul and Tuv aimags and it reduced the possibility of hay and fodder preparation. More than 90% of all territory was covered with snow and 50% of that snow’s thickness is 10-40 cm and density is 0.12-0.52g/cm3. That makes the pasturing and receiving new born harder. Early snow melted and became the ice layer on the land. As of today the condition of 66 soums of 12 aimags is more difficult than others.

7 people have been dead during Dec. 31, 2002-Jan. 2, 2003 and Jan. 7 - Jan. 9 210,671 of animal were lost in 12 regions as of February 25, 2003. Dzud psychosocial trauma is apparent among children of families suffered from dzud. The Mongolian Red Cross Society survey done in 2002 in Govialtai region found 3,825 people with various mental disorders caused by dzud in last three years.
