About ACDR

As disaster risks and vulnerabilities increase with flawed development activities and the prevalence of extreme climate events, it has become urgent to promote multi-disciplinary and inter-sectoral partnerships at all levels which TDRM advocates for.
It has become also essential to build consensus on the need for international cooperation for disaster reduction and to determine the relative positioning of this cooperation within the general schemes of current international cooperation and development policies.
In this regard, the Asian Conference on Disaster Reduction (ACDR) 2003 was held on 15-17 January 2003 in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan as an evolutional program of the past ADRC Annual Meetings.
The ACDR was conducted annually hosted by one of the member countries since then as shown below.
